Stallholder Information
  • Contact Market Management to find out if your product fits the market criteria. You may be asked to show a sample of your product between 11.30 and 12.30 at any of the markets at 'The Office', or to send photos.
  • Some products may have mandatory standards which apply. It is your responsibility to explore this to make sure that you comply with the law in regard to your product. Other products have recommended standards. In any event it is your responsibility to find this out by contacting Go Biz or The Office of Fair Trade and Equity and also you must ensure that your product is safe.
  • Council approval is required for the sale of all food.
  • Once your product has been accepted and all standards met, you may begin to attend the markets. Availability of stall sites does vary through the year, so check availability before beginning to attend.
  • Stall fee is $30.00 + $4 if you do not have your own public liability insurance.
  • You must arrive no earlier than 6am. NO EARLIER.
  • Park away from the market area at first. Do not park in the roadside parking spaces next to the market. These car parks are for loading and unloading purposes only, so don't park there until AFTER you get your site allocated.
  • Please be quiet early in the morning. Do not slam car doors. Do not use back-up beepers.
  • Walk into the market area and find 'The Office'. Register your name on the New Stall Holders List. You will register on this list for the first three months that you consistently attend each market. If you only attend sporadically then you will always register on the New Stall Holders List. Each market is regarded separately, so attendance at one does not count at the other locations in terms of the time you are considered to be a new stall holder.
  • Make sure you get a copy of the regulations governing the markets and read it. These regulations are available when you register in the morning - look on the table where the registration lists are.
  • You must bring with you everything which you need to set up your stall, to display your goods and to provide shade.
  • You will need ropes and pegs or stakes for your tent or umbrella. Everything must be secured against wind. Peg down your stall or umbrella AS SOON AS IT GOES UP. THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT.
  • Do not bring a metal hammer, only rubber mallets are permitted to minimise noise.
  • It will take us a while to allocate your stall site. Please be patient. When we are busy we allocate first to the most unusual goods and to the people who have been attending the longest.
  • Once you know where your site is, you may bring your car to the roadside to unload. Immediately you have unloaded, remove your car from the beach side of the road and park away from the market area. Do this BEFORE YOU SET UP YOUR TENT OR YOUR DISPLAY.
